The Root:

An Azure Dragon Constellation

Key Star: Iota Lib (Iota Librae)

The Root has four stars. Ancient Chinese Astrologers called it Ti and described it as the Azure Dragon's chest or front foot. When the moon passed through this constellation, they saw Portents similar to the following:

The calamaties brought by this constellation are due to the failure to pay proper respect to one's elders. Children of any marriage contracted on this day will be unable to express themselves or pay attention.**

In early Arabia, Astrologers called the "Root" Al Jubana. An ancient arabian portent for the Root is:

Hinders journeys and marriage, harvest and merchandise, favorable for redemption of captives. With Moon here, buy cattle but do not navigate. *

In ancient India, Astrologers called the Root Visakha. An ancient Indian Astrological portent would be:

A soft and sharp asterism belonging to the lowest caste and producing mixed effects. Those born on the lunar day will be religious, dealers in produce, and fond of red flowers. With Moon here at birth native will be jealous, mean, miserly, good-looking, clever in speech, and quarrelsome. Rules cotton fields and the nipples.*
